M. Elaine Husni, M.D., MPH
M. Elaine Husni, M.D., MPH, was elected to the board of directors in 2018. Husni was a member of the medical board from 2011 to 2017, served as co-chair for NPF’s Research Symposium, received an NPF/Arthritis National Research Foundation research grant on psoriatic arthritis, and is a frequent speaker at Foundation events. She also serves as a member of the audit & governance committee. Husni is vice chair of rheumatology, director of clinical outcomes research, and director of the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Center in the Department of Rheumatic and Immunologic Diseases at the Cleveland Clinic. She is also an assistant professor at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Practicing for more than 20 years, Husni received her M.D. and MPH from the Boston University School of Medicine and School of Public Health, trained as an internal medicine resident at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and was a rheumatology fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School. Husni has authored many publications on psoriatic disease and most recently served on the 2018 NPF/American College of Rheumatology guidelines committee for the treatment of psoriatic arthritis.
