First-ever psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis film festival honors Psoriasis Awareness Month
Spotlight on Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Online Film Festival highlights psoriatic disease
PORTLAND, Ore. (Aug. 9, 2011)—The National Psoriasis Foundation presents the first-ever film festival for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis to honor National Psoriasis Awareness Month in August. The Spotlight on Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Online Film Festival sheds light on life with psoriasis—a chronic, genetic disease of the immune system that appears on the skin, affecting as many as 7.5 million Americans—and psoriatic arthritis—a related joint condition—with its ups and downs, frustrations and realizations. Learn more about how to participate at: www.psoriasis.org/pam.
The festival is open to everyone with psoriasis and/or psoriatic arthritis and the people who love them. To participate, enter a short video by Aug. 28 in one of the following categories: action, youth, animation, horror, comedy, documentary and music video.
On Aug. 30, the Psoriasis Foundation will choose two semi-finalists in each category for online voting by the public. The Festival Grand Prize winner, as determined by the video with the most online votes, will be announced on Sept. 6. The grand prize is a $500 Visa gift card.
Each August, the National Psoriasis Foundation sponsors National Psoriasis Awareness Month, dedicated to raising awareness, educating the public and dispelling myths about psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. For more information, visit www.psoriasis.org.
