Improved Access to Psoriatic Disease Education

January 23, 2025 – Alexandria, Virginia

The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) is excited to announce the creation of Psoriasis Insider and the Patient Navigation Center Library, two new ways to stay informed with resources and support for managing your psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis (PsA).

Since NPF launched the Patient Navigation Center in 2016, dedicated Patient Navigators have provided support and education for more than 85,000 people from over 165 countries. While everyone’s experience with psoriatic disease is unique, many of the barriers to quality care and affordable, effective treatment are shared challenges. Each day, community members live healthier lives with less impact from this chronic disease with the support of the Patient Navigation Center.

Historically, NPF’s Patient Navigation Center provided educational resources upon request, with patients filling out a form for a new resource every month. With the new Psoriasis Insider program, community members can sign up once and receive new educational resources throughout the year directly from a Patient Navigator, as well as exclusive perks like healthy recipes, a first look at NPF events, and more.

Existing educational resources from the Patient Navigation Center have been collected into the Patient Navigation Center Resource Library. Covering topics including psoriasis types and locations, treatments, and living with psoriatic disease, most of the resources in the library are available for immediate download. The Resource Library currently has nearly 50 resources available and will continue to grow as additional resources are added.

“These two new initiatives make psoriatic disease education even more accessible for the whole community, and I’m thrilled to see the early positive responses to these new programs,” says Leah M. Howard, J.D., the President and CEO of NPF. “In line with NPF’s latest strategic plan objective to optimize the health of all individuals, these educational resources give people living with psoriatic disease the understanding and language necessary to feel empowered throughout their journey with this disease.”
