National Psoriasis Foundation Awarded Stellar 4-Star Charity Navigator Rating

For release October 3, 2023 – Alexandria, Virginia

The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) – the world’s leading nonprofit funder of psoriatic disease and comorbidities research – was awarded the coveted 4-star rating by Charity Navigator. This prestigious ranking is reserved for organizations that exemplify the stewardship of donor funds with maximum impact and transparency.

“We are honored to be recognized for our excellent management of the funds entrusted to us by donors around the world,” said Leah M. Howard, J.D., the President and CEO of NPF. “We know that trust is key. We put people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis at the heart of everything we do, which makes it easy for us to show our donors their impact in a transparent and forthright way.”

NPF supports the more than 8 million people in the U.S. who live with psoriatic disease through advocacy, education, research, and community connection. Since its founding in 1967 by a woman who lived with psoriasis covering over 80 percent of her body, NPF has represented all those impacted by psoriasis and PsA, as well as those who care for them.

More than 77 cents of every dollar donated to NPF goes directly to mission-related activities and programs, including the investment of more than $30 million dollars in psoriatic disease research in recent years.

“As a supporter of the National Psoriasis Foundation and other charitable organizations, I turn to Charity Navigator to ensure my investment is being used wisely,” said Carol Ostrow, the Chair of the NPF Board of Directors. “When you donate your hard-earned dollar to NPF, you can rest assured you are contributing toward the mission to cure psoriatic disease and support all those impacted.”

Charity Navigator is the largest and most utilized evaluator of charities in the U.S. They provide insights into a nonprofit's financial stability, as well as adherence to transparency and accountability.
