NPF Selects Two Youth Ambassador Scholarship Recipients

March 26, 2025Alexandria, Virginia

Two dedicated National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) Youth Ambassadors have been selected to receive scholarships to support their post-secondary education. Each scholar was awarded $1500 following an application and evaluation process that included an essay and a review of their participation in the NPF Youth Ambassador program.

Psoriatic disease, which can manifest at any age, presents a unique set of challenges for children and young adults. About one-third of people with psoriasis develop it before age 20. Psoriatic disease can adversely impact social interactions, academic performance, and overall quality of life. Adolescents can face significant difficulties as they transition from childhood to adulthood while dealing with the physical and emotional impacts of psoriatic disease.

To address these challenges, NPF launched the Youth Ambassadors program in 2016. This initiative provides opportunities for youth to engage with others who have psoriatic disease and serve as leaders in the community. NPF Youth Ambassadors act as role models to help peers manage and take control of their disease, inspiring others with psoriatic disease to lead confident and fulfilling lives.

The 2025 Youth Ambassador Scholarship Recipients

  • Landen Hall is a senior at Lugoff Elgin High School in Camden, South Carolina. Next year, Landen will attend the University of South Carolina Honor College and major in Biological Sciences. Landen will be pursuing a degree in medicine.
  • Karlee Sabin is a junior at Northern Arizona University. She is from Queen Creek, Arizona where she is majoring in Elementary and Special Education. Karlee joined the Youth Ambassador team in 2022 and is the 2025 Lead Youth Ambassador.

“The Youth Ambassador program empowers youth living with psoriatic disease by joining them with peers, offering guidance and education around community engagement, and providing leadership opportunities,” said Audrey Riggs, NPF Volunteer Services Manager, who manages the program. “Karlee and Landen embody the ideals of the program. NPF is proud to support them in their next steps.”

The National Psoriasis Foundation congratulates these two worthy scholarship recipients on their selection as the 2025 awardees.
