National Psoriasis Foundation president and CEO appointed vice chair of the National Health Council
Effective Jan. 1, the National Health Council (NHC), an organization of more than 100 national health-related charities and businesses dedicated to the millions of people with chronic diseases and disabilities, elected Randy Beranek, National Psoriasis Foundation president and CEO, as vice chair for 2013. Beranek has been an NHC board member since 2011.
Beranek joins five other executives from various health sectors as the newest officers. The membership of the NHC also appointed six new members to its board of directors.
As an officer, Beranek will represent the psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis community and help the NHC achieve its strategic priorities.
The National Health Council brings together all segments of the health care community to provide a unified voice for the more than 133 million people with chronic diseases and disabilities and their family caregivers. Its core membership includes approximately 50 of the nation's leading patient advocacy organizations, which control its governance. Other members include professional and membership associations; nonprofit organizations with an interest in health; and major pharmaceutical, medical device, health insurance and biotechnology companies.
