Patient assistance foundations
Patient assistance foundations may assist with high out-of-pocket costs, such as co-pays, depending on available funding.
HealthWell Foundation—800.675.8416
The HealthWell Foundation is an independent, charitable organization that provides financial assistance to individuals for insurance premiums, prescription drug co-insurance, co-payments and deductibles, and other select out-of-pocket health costs. Individuals covered by private insurance, employer-sponsored plans, Medicare or Medicaid may be eligible to participate.
Patient Advocate Foundation—1.866.512.3861
Currently, the Patient Advocate Foundation only offers assistance to patients with psoriatic arthritis. Provides direct financial support to insured patients, including Medicare Part D beneficiaries, who must financially and medically qualify to access pharmaceutical co-payment assistance.
Patient Access Network Foundation*—866.316.7263
The Patient Access Network Foundation supports insured patients who cannot afford the high out-of-pocket costs associated with their medical care. Only patients with plaque psoriasis are eligible.
*As of October 2009, PAN's website states that the funds for plaque psoriasis are "fully allocated—we are no longer accepting or processing applications for new or renewal patients and have filled all available waitlist slots. All available funds have been allocated to current patients."
National Organization for Rare Diseases*— 1.800.634.7207
NORD administers programs to assist uninsured or under-insured individuals in securing life-saving or life-sustaining medications. Depending on funding, NORD may assist with medications for psoriasis.
*As of October 2009 funding is not currently available for psoriasis.
